Smile New mommy.

Hi,
I am the mom of two birds. My senegal, Tuni, I have had about three years. My new baby is a one-year-old Queen of Bavaria conure that I purchased yesterday. Until yesterday I had never heard of a Queen of Bavaria conure. You can bet I have been doing a lot of research. Took her to the vet this morning to get her checked out. She is a sweetie and a clown. She makes my senegal look like a lump. We also have six children between the ages of 29 years and three years. The last three are adopted. We also have a six-year-old labradoodle. If anyone has any info on the golden conure or has one, please contact me with any advice you might have.

Thanks,
Mav

Smile New Eclectus Parrot Parents!!!

Hello Everyone,

We have inherited a 5-7 year old Eclectus Parrot named Baby Bird. I really feel like I have a small child in the house, as he talks all day long, sings, follows me around the house, and throws tantrums!!!! He is so much fun!!!

So far, he loves carrots, cooked pasta, and grapes. I peel the skin off apples and he eats them with me in the morning, too. He also throws them around when he gets mad at us!!! We've only had him for about 3 weeks now, so we're slowly learning all about him and what he likes.

Please feel free to leave us some food choices of your Eclectus Parrots. And toys that are fun for them to play with!!!

Thanks,
Brandy and Wesley

Hi ... brand new here! Hubby and I live in southern California and have a rare Hispanolan parrot. She is from the Dominican Republic and my husband has had her since she was a baby and she is now 26 years old! (We just got "custody" of her in May 08 from the ex-wife). I never knew how cool birds could be or how much I could love one!! Her name is Cuca.

We also have 2 dogs, and 4 cats!

Hi ... our parrot really loves raw corn (still on the cob) and Pomegrantes, which we jokingly call her "red corn". Cuca also loves apples, carrots, potatoes, cantalope, watermelon etc. I leave the skin on, as it gives her extra fiber. Oh yes, and hard boiled eggs too! Good Luck!

Need Help Training Budgies!!

I'm new to this site, and I'm hoping you can help me with the birds that I adopted. In the past I have purchased individual birds from breeders, and only having one bird at a time I didn't have any trouble hand training and taming them. This time I adopted a flock of four from an animal shelter; as they had been living together for months in the shelter I didn't want to split up the flock. But all my attempts at taming and finger training them have failed. Is the problem the fact that they are in a group? If you can advise me in any way I would appreciate it, or just refer me to someone who knows best about training a group of budgies. Thanks very much for any help you can provide. Ginny
