Hello,

I'm Samantha and I live in Northern Ontario with 2 Fischer Lovebirds, and am looking forward to getting a Blue and Gold at a future date. I love all animals, I've bred and shown dogs (whippets and collies) for 30 years, and have 3 whippets and 2 collies, but am no longer breeding. I look forward to reading and learning on this board.

hey! I'm Callie, and I'm in the process of becoming mommy to my very first green cheek conure. I found a breeder near me, and put down a deposit. My baby hatched on October 15! He should be weaned and ready to come home sometime near Christmas (the best gift I can think of!). His name is going to be Jazz. Wish me luck!
p.s...I'm not the best ever on computers, don't know exactly where I should post this question: I have a small terrarium with a tiny green snake in the room that I plan to keep Jazz's cage in. I read something about heat lamp fumes being toxic? is that all heat lamps? its just a regular lamp with a red bulb put in to keep the snake warm. How do I know if it's a toxic one or not?
thanks so much and sorry for my question-posting-dumbness :-o

Callie

Voslover

Hello everyone!! I've been a member for some time but this is my first post. I live in central FL with my FID, Keiki. Keiki is Hawaiian for child/kid. Keiki is a female Vos Eclectus of 3+ years and has a vocabulary of approximately 150 words. She speaks mostly in phrases...many of which are relative to what's happening at the moment. For example, she says "bye-bye" when we pick up our car keys or set the house alarm before leaving. She says "good morning” when we first uncover her each day. Her favorite is "wanna go outside", because she knows that we will respond with a walk around our pool area.

This board has been an outstanding resource for information and I review it every day. Thanks to all and good luck with your FIDs. Here's a current picture of Keiki.

Hi -

I'm Mara and I'm in NH. We used to have quite a feathered flock - 3 lovebirds, an amazon, a conure, and an cockatoo. Most were rescues, and they passed from old age. We're down to the Elenora cockatoo, Phoenix.

We also have a cat and two dogs, a toddler, and I'm expecting my 2nd. DH and I both work full time, so I'm looking around to try to find ways to integrate Phoenix into our daily lives more. He's lonely now that his flock has passed away, and I need to find a way to give him more attention ( then why am I on the computer?). I'm afraid with the new baby we may have to rehome, and am trying to find solutions that will keep that from happening!

Good evening to all
My name is Racheal, and I am new to this site. Thanks for having me. I have been trying to learn all there is to know about macaws. I had the joy of baby sitting 2 babies, about 5 days old and 12 days old. I have experience with hand feeding, and am not too apprehensive about it, and am doing ok. But I figured that this site might answer some questions. Thanks, Racheal
