No cats in the house here. Cat saliva is deadly to birds. I do feed the feral cats in the back yard though and the squirrels and ground hogs and the wild birds get all the leftovers from the pet birds.

Re: Lexi in San Diego............Cats and Birds?

I have two cats and two birds. And they get along fine! My older cat ignores the birds entirely while my younger kitty does sit there fixated like it's kitty television. In general though they get along great. I also have a rat which my senegal is best friends with - they love eachother to death.

Re: Lexi in San Diego............Cats and Birds?

I've heard a lot of people say they couldn't have birds because they have a cat...

I have two cats and 8 birds. Karma (cat) was obsessed with Wasabi (Parrotlet) the first week I had him home but then got bored with him. My other cat Maya has been scared of them since Wasabi landed on her back one time and she didn't know what to do. Of course my cats are both declawed indoor cats...
