Blanca says hello to all of you!
Hi, I'm new. I am owned by one male Moluccan Cockatoo, Tango, who shares his home with me, my husband, our Samoyed dog, our Australian Shepherd dog and our calico cat. My husband of 14 years cleans the cage (thank you to the Universe!!) and does different tasks from me. I make all of Tango's fresh mix food from The Gabriel Foundation Mash Diet created and researched by Shauna Roberts. He also gets pellets and then sunflower seeds as rewards for any little thing.
I make simple toys and have recently been expanding my skills and Tango's foraging ops. I restring wood toys all the time. Last week end, a friend and I made a PVC play stand - simple, cheap, easy to move from room to patio and fun to do. It took us about an hour and I am a dolt with tools. My friend knew what to do when I showed a picture and bought the supplies. I also got extra PVC fittings in different combos to put little treats in for Tango to learn to unscrew things and find. He is still learning that one. We have a one parrot home and are just wondering if we have the right combo of love and time to devote to a rescue bird. Also wonder if Tango would adjust to another bird in his life. Lots to evaluate and plenty of time to decide. No impulsive moves about that huge commitment. Here is an Animoto video of Tango in my garden. He loves to get off his play stand and walk over to where I am working, helps me plant things, bites dirt and plants, sneaks cherry tomatoes and generally loves life. And "A Taste of Tango" shows shots him inside and interacting with Cassie the Samoyed. Thanks for letting me join you. I look forward to learning about you and your fids. |

WELCOME!!! It's great to get new members that bring new ideas and experiences.
I have the opposite situation as you. I have a rescued Amazon that has done amazing. Tomorrow, it's only a visit, but an 8 year old moluccan female is coming to our home for a visit with her family. ![]() We'll see how it all goes.... Once again, WELCOME! |
