Hello from Greeley, CO USA

Hello, I have one Congo African Grey named Gio. He is roughly 35 years old (near as we can figure). He has been my little rehab project. When I got him 4 years ago he was meaner than ... you know what and only had feathers on his head and wings. He was wild caught and then abused. Anyway, I am happy to say that his is in full healthy feather now and he and I have lots of vocal interaction as well as a little bit of touch here and there. And getting to be more and more.

My newest member of the family is Salsa. She is a 14 year old Greenwing Macaw that I am adopting from a young family that just had their second child and had to move back in with the in-laws. Anyway, I am going to Roatan Honduras for a couple of weeks to help my aunt since my uncle died recently but as soon as I get home Salsa will be coming home too. From the little bit of time I have been able to spend with her, she has been a wonderfully sweet yet very intelligent bird. I can't wait to get her home in a couple of weeks and get to know her.

Aside from them my little zoo includes, 2 Budgies, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 6 fish tanks (salt and fresh water), and two horses.

I am looking forward to getting to know ya'll around here and learning more about these beautiful creatures.

Hi and welcome from Littleton, Colorado. We were just talking about Weld County at work today (I'm working on a presidential campaign) and how we want to get more precinct leaders for the upcoming (Feburary 5th) caucuses. Some of the staff were heading up to Greeley.

Looking forward to hearing more about your birds!

Thanks for all the wonderful welcomes!! I have heard of the Gabriel Foundation, but have not been down there. I've been thinking I might try to go see them one of these weeks after my volunteer shift at the Downtown Aquarium. I've heard great things about them. As far as pictures of my birds... Well, I'll see if I can get some posted here in the next day or two. I have a lot to do to get ready for my trip, but I might be able to squeeze in time to get some recent pics of Gio anyway. Pics of Salsa will have to wait until I return from my trip. Thanks again for all the welcomes!!!
