Hi, I just joined today.
Hi guys,
I just joined the board today. I am owned by 6 quakers. They have me very well trained:) I kind of stumbled onto 3 of the birds and have never owned birds before. Well those 3 got me hooked and now I have 6, lol. They are great little birds. Someday I'd love to add a bigger parrot but not now. My guys are: Billy Jockette Helio Isis Blue -may change, only 4 months old Kitty - may change, only 5 months old I am also owned by 5 dogs: Charlie (yorkie) Dante (red doberman) Cyrus ( fawn english mastiff) Roxy (apricot toy poodle) Roma (red toy poodle) oh and can't forget the kids, lol. I have 2 sons that are 17 and 19. I look fwd to reading the board and I know I'll have questions from time to time. Here are a few pics of my birds. they don't much like pictures taken:) |

Thanks for the wonderful welcome
Nice to have a board that isn't used to attack people:)
I love the pics of the birds who were posted. I'd like to get a good pic of 2 of my greens. They are HUGE compared to the other green and the blues. But they are also the most unphotogenic of them all, lol. The first time one of them did the "construction guy whistle", for lack of a better term, when I walked into the room I actually felt pretty good about it. It was cute, funny and I thought wow, they really like me. Of course then I heard the whistle over and over again at diff. times when NO ONE was in the room, lol! Billy is trying his best to learn the phrase "Charlie, no bark". That's what I say to my yorkie when he barks at the wind outside, lol. It is so cute to hear them try to figure out how to say things. I can tell what he's trying to say cause he has the charlie part down but just not the rest yet. Blue and Kitty talk to each other all the time. Not the squacking stuff but it actually sounds like they are saying a language that only they understand except once in a while a word will actually come out I can understand. I just love these birds:) When my Mastiff and Doberman met them for the first time you should have seen the looks on their faces. It was a look like "what in the heck are these doing IN THE HOUSE?", like birds should be outside. Now it's just all normal and they actually like them. ok, enough from me. Nice to meet you all and I already enjoy the board:) |
