Please observe STRICT quarantine for your birds for NO LESS than 48 days. Its precisely to keep your healthy birds well and to allow time for any illness to develop that we segregate new birds.
As far as contaminating your birds, I'm not sure. However, the more exposed they are, the more likely they will become sick should your macaw prove to have something more serious going on. New birds should not be allowed on equipment used by other birds until the quarantine period is over. Be sure to disinfect whatever playstand he used today before allowing any other bird on it.
