Just introducing myself and the gang

Hi everyone,

I'm Mel and I'm currently owned by 11 birds, soon to be 13 as I am adding a couple of breeder Java Finches to the gang at the end of January.

My flock consists of Dolly an 8 yr old CAG, Jinx a 1 yr old CAG, Cricket a 24 yr old yellow crown amazon, Sprite a 5 yr old goffins cockatoo, Frankie a 6 yr old goffins cockatoo, Isis an approx. 10 yr old nanday conure, Travis a 20+ yr old sun conure, Kiwi an 8 yr old meyers parrot, Angel a 10 yr old lovebird, and Misty and Whisper 6 and 4 yr old albino parakeets. The finches are just over a year of age and currently sitting on eggs so I have to wait to get them until they've raised this clutch....end of Jan. or mid Feb hopefully.

Most of the birds are rehomes, rescues and misfits with only Kiwi, and the finches being pet store babies. Jinx came from a breeder in Missouri. Dolly was a rehome after her owner passed away, Sprite was in horrible conditions in TX before he came here, Frankie started out as a foster that never left, Isis was a rescue/rehome. He came with absolutely no wings, tail and very little other feathering on him from being mistreated.He's now fully feathered., Travis was a "here's a bird" in a parking lot adventure as his owner was going into a nursing home and the family wanted nothing to do with the bird, Misty and Whisper were being picked on at the pet store I worked at so they were given to me just to give them a safe place to live, Angel was a rehome and Cricket was also a rehome.

Hi & Welcome! So thrilled to say hi after reading your intro.

Hope you can get some photos of your fids up in this thread or in the species threads.

About the avatar - i think if you're a BB Supporter you can add one of your choosing - but you can do the profile photo by browsing thru your photos & add some photos to your signature if they're not too big.
