Hi Everyone

When I get my income tax I am planning on buying a parrot. I know you shouldn't buy from a pet store, but the one of the stores has a real sweetheart. It is a 8 month old blue and gold macaw. They don't know the sex. They said if I ordered the test kit they would pull the feathers for it.

The first time I saw it I fell in love. It raised it's leg to step up as I was walking up to it. This bird is so friendly. I sure hope he is there in about a month. The store made me clean my hands before they let me hold it. So I know that they care for the safety of the birds. I am sorry about rambling on, but owning a big bird has been a dream for 20 years. Now the dream is about to become reality. My husband was in the Army and I didn't think it was fair to the bird.

Hi and welcome!! As long as a store is reputable, has healthy birds and feeds a good diet, I personally feel there is nothing wrong with buying from a store.

Good luck with your decision, whatever it may be!

Will they allow you to put a down payment on the bird and visit with it until you get your return? This may be the better way to go so that you can form a bond with him prior to actually taking him home, right? :)
