Steph u sure that is 1/2" looks bigger in pic may be an illusion though

Isn't all pvc for plumbing drinking water the one post said to make sure you used drinking water pvc.

Issac where do you get manzantia wood

Thanks Cuck
Hi Chuck - glad you're going to stick around! Yes, I'm sure the pvc I used is 1/2 inch. It looks bigger once you wrap it with stuff and maybe just looks bigger in the picture?

I remember when I bought my pvc last time they had 2 different kinds - I believe they were both for plumbing - but one of them was more of a light yellowish color. It almost looked a little less sturdier than they white pvc - don't remember what the different purpose for it was though.

My birds don't really seem to care for manzanite wood. I don't know if it's because I have samller birds or not. But manzanite is a pretty hard wood - so they don't really seem to take interest in trying to chew on it. I've got a couple of manzanite perches - but I ended up throwing them in a tub in the basement as none of the fids liked them - even after sanding them and trying to make them less slippery. But that's just been my experience with it. I know some people have manzanite perches and gyms for their fids and they seem to like them.

Also, bottlebrush is another good source of woods! It's highly recommended, but beyond Waynes BottleBrush Gyms (found on Ebay or google search) it's not real reasy to aquire bottlebrush...

Chuck, most online bird stores carry manzanita perches, and some pet stores do also.

If you know anyone in Florida, ask them to send you bottlebrush! LOL
