Welcome to the board....
It's great to have a new member.... There are plenty of Too owners around here (myself included) that would love to see PICTURES as well as help or chat with you. WOW.. a nine month old Grey (TAG) and already getting a Too (G2) as well... I have one begginner piece of advice... since you just purchased to of the "dustiest" parrots known to man (so far)... (well actually I'd say the Umbrella Cockatoo (U2) is the dustiest in my expierience) Place a good heppa air filter in their rooms to cut down on feather dust in the air and on the furniture and even help keep house hold bugs/mites away. Please ask any other questions, we'd love to hear from you!!!!

Thank You PowerBB! Yes we are already getting another lol. The TAG was my bird, and she seems to not want to be handled and sit with anyone. She will step up with no problem and I knew she wouldn't be a cuddly bird but loved the way they look and we are working with her to just be able to sit with one of us.
As for the G2 my husband really wanted one and it was actually between the two when we got the TAG, and than once we saw that it will take a little while for our TAG to come around and want to sit with anyone we decided to go ahead and get the G2 for we have children and of course hubby wants to hold and cuddle as well with a bird. Being the TAG isn't known to be cuddly which we knew, we wanted to go ahead while she was young and get the G2 so it wouldn't stress her out too much down the line. We just really wanted a cuddly bird as well and I think it will make a nice addition to our flock. We also have a Quaker that we rescued 9 years ago. Thank you for welcoming us! I am looking forward to hearing all the advice from everyone, for I am a member on the greyforum as well but wanted to go somewhere as well that had G2's.

I forgot to mention... Both the Greys and Too's are commonly known to be "one person birds" where they will typically bond and interact with only one person in the family.
Our TAG - Skoobie Doo (3.5yr old) - will not let me pet him either. I can barely get him to step on my finger (he prefers to fly off of it almost as quickly as he steps on). However the wife, she can cuddle, pet and play with all the time. If I try, he basically runs/leans away from me. Yet he will let me give him kisses. Our Too... Franky (3yr old) - he is bonded to me to the point that he will attack others just for talking to me. Yet he has yet to ever even bite me. He's a very "cuddly" bird. He's my "dog" per say as he barks when he's ignored or bored. He will roll over on his back for me to rub his belly too. A word of caution. It's up to the bird who bonds to who. So it's possible the new Too will bond to you and still leave your husband out in the cold. Best suggestive course I can recommend is get a female too... fids seem to bond with opposite genders better in my best experiences. But even then... no guarantees. The amount of time spent with them can have an effect as well, however I spend more time with our Grey than my wife by far; and still I get the "cold" sholder from him.

[quote=PowerBBS;726777]I forgot to mention... Bot the Greys and Too's are commonly known to be "one person birds" where they will typically bond and interact with only one person in the family.
We always read up on the birds we want for well over a year just because we don't want to be one of those who don't know what they are getting into. I have to say that there isn't one site yet that has said they are a one person bird. They have all said that the Goffin Cockatoo are very good family birds and love attention soo much that they will take it from anyone. I do agree that it probably will have a favorite just like anything, but I haven't found a site yet that said they are a one person bird. The Congo's I know are known for this and that is why we opted to go with the Timneh. Every article had said they are more likely to pick a favorite but go to everyone as long as they were gotten young and socialized. Problem with our TAG is we got her around 6 months old which isn't bad at all, but she had a very very bad flight from the breeders to get to us. We live in WV and the breeder was in TX. It was suppose to be a 5 hour flight that turned into a 13 hour flight! SweetHeart was shipped to Charleston, SC instead of Charleston, WV. So of course this traumatized her. So we are taking it slow with her. She steps up with no problem at all but would rather you not hold her for too long. She likes her play top. I have been taking her back to my chair every day and just sitting her there with me in the hopes she will just hang out with us eventually. So she is still young, and she is very good, she will go to any of us, but doesn't like to be cuddly. And again, didn't think she really would be, that would be nice but really just want her to be able to hang out with us and not fly off back to her cage. I don't know about the other Cockatoos really, I have mainly read up on the Goffin and I haven't found anyone saying they are a one person bird. But guess only time will tell. Cause honestly the TAG hasn't picked it's person really yet and the Quaker is his anyway lol. So would be nice if it just went to everyone and still had a favorite just like we would want with our TAG.

Welcome!! I have heard too's can be one persone birds too. Alot of the Aussie birds are like that or they would only like adults and not kids or people with hair...strange i know lol. I have heard of some that bond with the whole family but then again any strangers it's attack mode. They do make wonderful cuddly pets but make sure they are handles by everyone who comes in the house pretty much. It is one of the reason's i am getting an alex as they arent known to overly favoritise people, i mean of course they will have a favourite but will put up with other people too. But hey if you socialise it well then you may have a great guy/girl. Again, they are great birds.
