They are all so cute and gorgeous!!! Don't see too many people with splendids however, since they tend to be more aviary type birds than pets...

Ean was my first. I bought him when he was being hand fed and visited him several times a week at the store. Everyone just loved him. He had quite the following from all the patrons of that store and they hated to see him leave for my home. He is so loving and loves to finger wrestle.
Shadow was next, i purchased him at a local bird show. He is so very hyper, there is nothing he will not explore and get his beak into. When he is on my shoulder and im sitting watching tv he will run circles around my head. Makes me dizzy. Kiwi followed when i found him at another bird show. He is so quite and shy. Still working on his social skills. I purchased Jaden from a couple that bought him to be a breeder. He was just too sweet for their purposes of a breeder so i got him for my birthday. He is a talker, and cuddler. Here is a picture of three of them on their play gym minus kiwi (just too little and shy for that just yet). |

I loved all the photos! Nice to see so many just hanging. Great Gym.
I fell in love with a swift parakeet last year but backed off because a breeder said they were best kept in groups in an aviary setting - i think they're not as social unless with their own kind - but the little guy i liked looked a lot like your Splendid & I'm wondering if the same holds true for your shy guy? What confused me is the store Swift was as tame & as bold as a Budgie. What do you feed your Splendid? The Swift had a half Lory [nectar] diet, half seeds. |

What a neat bunch of birds! I wish mine could sit together like that. Maybe some day. Welcome! I haven't been here long either, but I like the atmosphere too. Very friendly and supportive.
