Hello from Adelaide Australia

Hi,
We're Liz (and Glenn), two budding bird enthusiasts
We have two peach faced love birds RJ and CC (an engagement present from my sister), and an Indian Ringneck, Raul/Rauletta (who we rescued from a pet store - it had spent over three months there and looked totally miserable).
They are all about a year old, so we don't know Raul's sex yet.
We currently also have a Canary which we adopted from an acquaitance who was neglecting it terribly Why do people take on birds when they are not interested in even cleaning their cage? We have tentatively named it Butch (cause it is so tiny). We feel that four birds is way to many for us - the parrots require (and get) A LOT of attention - so we are working on adopting out Butch
Although being new to owning birds we love them - they are unique pets!

That's quite a flock you have-lots of different personalities! What kind of canary is Butch (love the name, lol)? How come he doesn't get a picture, too?
Welcome

we don't yet have a photo of butch, i will put one up asap
life you be boring if their personalities were all the same - even the two lovebirds are quite different - RJ is heaps more assertive and curious than CJC who is very skittish

Welcome! Glad to meet you & the fids. Canaries are pretty low maintenance; pity you are on the other side of the world, since my four could use some new blood & I would take Butch in a heartbeat <g>. Is he vocalizing? Cheers,

Butch has been adopted by our vet's nurse. The nurse has a male canary that needed a friend and given that the vet is an avian specialist I know she has gone to a good home
As for Australia, it is an awesome place to be if you are interested in seeing wild cockatoos and parrots. My husband loves taking photos of them - if you are interested he has put some up on his website:
http://www.geocities.com/glenncarruthers/wildindex.html
We see heaps of gallahs, sulfur crested cockatoos and corellas around basically every day as well as lorikeets and rosellas.
