Hi from Australia :-)

hi everyone :-) i just found this site today looks great!! im looking forward to reading through all the forums :-)

I have an Indian ring neck named Gizmo... i rescued him from someone who found him in the wild and was sending him off to a breeder as noone had claimed him... he is such a sweetie.. and i am so lucky to have him... though he could be a she lol as i dont know how old gizmo is...
i have a quick question.. i dont know if this is the right place or not.. but i was wondering about something about gizmos behaviour.. he seems to be slightly flicking his wings against his body.. its a very small movement but he seems to do it often... is this a normal thing?... there are no avian vets here that i can take him too so im hoping its nothing serious..... he seems happy in other respects.. i have had him a week and a half and he is happy to fly to me to get treats and is happy to sit with me for a pat.. he is really cute.. anyways i hope to talk to everyone here..
bye for now
Naomi

Does it appear to be like a stretching or mimicking like he is trying to fly? Birds will do it alot to stretch and just let loose for abit.

hi there thanks for the reply :-) no its a very slight movement kinda like hes tapping one wing to his body then the other he does stretch and preen himself.. and he is free to fly around when hes out but what he is doing is just a minimal movement?

Welcome to the board. I've never noticed Magellan doing that, but suspect she has been in captivity all of her life. Would love to see pics of Gizmo!
