Hi Joe,
Glad to meet you. Don't know much about parrotlets, but I know you will get good advice from my colleagues!

the biggest thing is p'lets need lots of sleep, 11-12 hrs every night. they can bite but my winkie hasn't broken skin - yet.
they need a BIG cage (at least 24" by 24") no matter what.
lots of green veggies, winkie loves corn, peas, apples, broccoli & cauliflower. most p'lets are millet hogs (use their favorite food for bribes/treats).
get them used to different people/places & things. i have a loose schedule for winkie's getting up & going to sleep. he gets up between 8 & 9 in the morning & most evenings he's in bed by 7:30. wednesdays - he goes 2 bed @ 6. sunday's he gets up @ usual time, but is on his own from 9 or so until early afternoon.
i took him to AL for New Years & he traveled well.
