Kudos on doing research to see what you are about to get into. Many things to consider...the nutritional needs of the different types of birds alone can fill volumes. The CAG is like taking on a 5 year old intelligence- wise...not to mention emotionally, and keeping them occupied mentally and physically. And then there is the consideration of thinking that he/ she may very well outlive you! I'm considering adopting one from a rescue and have been putting a LOT of thought into it for almost a YEAR now, and am leaning strongly with a GO AHEAD!!! My Goffin's 'too, Darwin is a handful by himself, and I want to make sure there is enough of "momma" to go around to my other little guys! (Not to mention $$$!)
