Quite New Here

Hi Everyone, My name is Cindi and I am here because I have been given the greatest opportunity to have inherited 2 of the most amazing birds, In December of 2007, I was given a 1 yr. old Conure named Piper, I am not sure if he's a Jenday or a Sun Conure, but he is beautiful. The other bird is a 7 yr old African Grey named Pete. Very talkative. Now I am not sure what to do. The Conure is very friendly, he makes us laugh often, but when he flies onto Pete's cage (African Grey) Pete will attack him. I do not let them out at the same time. Is there any hope of them getting together or should I just hang that Idea up? I would appreciate any input or suggestions and any tips on these birds. Thankyou.

Hang that Idea up. If the grey attacks him now he will kill him. I would also watch out if Piper lands on the cage and its very possible to get his toes or feet chopped off. It has happened to many of us! A Jenday will be more green.
A sun at maturity will look more like this
Sun Conure but look allot like a Jenday at first with the green back
A jenday will look like this
Birds » Parrots » Conure - Jandaya Main Page
Note the green back and wings
I dont know how long it takes the gold to come in on the Suns back but others on here do....Can you post pictures for us?? WE LOVE PICS!!!!

WELCOME TO THE BOARD!!!!!!!!!!
Here is one page of both plus Hybrids like the SUNDAY conure (a cross between the two)

Welcome to the board ceejjay. You found the right place in the web to learn from so many of us bird lovers! I agree with huntress. Keep them apart. How lucky for you to inherit two FIDS.. Have you had any birds before?
