Hello from Florida
Just wanted to say hello,
We just got a Lovebird. We have had birds in the past, but it's been a few years. We have had pigeons, lovebirds, tiels and a Umbrella. We decided to get back into it after walking into a bird shop. I knew what was going to happen before we ever walked in. My wife has a thing for lovebirds. I love the lovebird, but I am looking for a larger parrot. Either a Amazon, Grey or ringneck. |

Welcome to BB, I live in the Clearwater area. The weather is not soo good right now. Have company in and they wanted to go boating. Yea Right... We tried, were probably the only fools out there. Tried to go out into the Gulf, that was pretty scarry, had to pick our wave to turn around and by then the inside of the cabin was all over the place and on the floor ( I prepared the cabin for rough seas, but not that rough LOL ), not fun.. Had to go to Publix to buy the Grouper. LOL. Oh and no fids went on this 3 hour tour, not even Gilligan. LOL

I have had birds on /off since I was about 10 or 11, some went due to age. Something got into the pigeons coup and scared them, so bad they actually never came back. I would see them periodically, but they completely lost their trust. The umbrella we had to sale. When I bought it I didn't realize how spoiled it was. It hated to stay in the cage. I worked nights at the time and couldn't sleep with all the screaming. I couldn't leave it out while I was sleeping,as it chewed everything. She went to a retired person who lived where there wasn't a problem with the screaming. I now know to watch the breeder you buy from. The signs were there but I didn't pay attention. The umbrella couldn't be alone. I would fall asleep and she would let herself out of her cage. I would wake up spooning with a umbrella. We had to use a pad lock, which frustrated her even more. It's been like 15 years I still think of her. I just couldn't break any of the habits. |
