First a big howdy to everyone. This is such a great site and you all sound wonderful. I've been doing nothing but reading all day. I love it.
I've owned birds at one time or another almost all my life. We currently have a severely aggressive (towards women) U2 named Holly that we are trying hard to help her overcome this, unsuccessfully so far. I've posted under the cockatoo forum about her.
I also have a white ringneck dove named Sam. He is very friendly and loves to eat. I always tease him and tell him he's gonna get big as a parrot if he doesn't let up. But it's peck, peck, peck all day long. He loves fruits and veggies, (actually, anything we eat looks good to him), Zupreem Fruit Diet for canaries and finches and I found out just about a week ago he's been wanting some of the cracked sunflower seeds and thistle I put out for the wild birds. Yep, just helped himself before I got to take it outside.
I think Sam is an older bird and was probably used as a breeder, although he is very tame. When he came to us the tip of one of his toes was missing. We do have to keep him in the back bedroom at night because early in the morning his cooing will drive everyone crazy. But he's my baby and I love him.
Well, that's about it. I just wanted to let everyone know I am so glad to have found this site.
