Anxiously awaiting homecoming day of my Quaker

Hello all, I am so excited to finally be adding a Quaker to our family. He/she will be coming home in the next 1.5-2 weeks. I have done a ton of reading and searching over the last 3 years and I know that I will still continue to learn and read much more info for the rest of my life, lol. Any suggestions or helpful information for bringing baby home would be greatly appreciated. I can't wait to get to know the people of birdboard and of course my baby. Still don't have a name, have to get to know him/her a bit and also find out whether it is a boy or girl, so for now it will be baby! We also have a 3 year old yellow lab Diego and 2 shih tzus Kierra 2-1/2 yrs old and Tsante 2 yrs oldthat . I have a 9 year old son and a 6 year old daughter and then my hubby, so we now have a full house!! Unfortunately between the excitement and all the health questions to the breeder, I just realized I totally forgot to ask exactly how old my baby is, lol, I do know she/he is still being hand fed and needs help maintaining his/her temperature.

A big hello and welcome. Congrats on choosing a quaker I know you wont be sorry :) I have a blue one named Charlie and he brings such joy. All I can tell you when he came home for the first time he wasn't shy, haha, he just took over. After 3 weeks he has started to talk, doesn't supprise me because I am such a chater box !! A word of advice, Quakers do tend to want to bond with one person, I made sure that my husband, kids, kids friends who visit and family all chat to charlie and pat him just so he socialises. Anyway, just enjoy and all the best when he get him :)

Thank You

Thank you for the info Charliesmum and all the welcomes. Gosh, I feel like the last few weeks before I had my children, lol. The excitement is now turning to nerveousness. I am "nesting" cleaning and "baby" proofing the house. I have had a cockatiel and a few parakeets before and loved them to death, but I also had cats and they REALLY liked the parakeets. Then the tiel was my father-in-laws bird whose name was Butcher and boy did his name have meaning, you touch him, he drew blood, lol. My dad came over and Butcher totally fell in love with him and was all over him, so we sent him home with my dad, cause obviously they were meant to be together. His name is now Rhett and he will even let my kids hold him, sometimes I wonder if he's the same bird, lol.

The wait....

Well, went into the store to pick up some more things today, lol. I think this little fid is going to be just as spoiled as my kiddos. I finally remembered to ask how old the little guy/girl is, she doesn't have the exact doh at the store yet, but he/she is about 6 weeks old, so I actually have at least 2-3 more weeks to wait but all is good, just more time to buy and build more stuff, lol. We started a PVC play stand yesterday and are having tons of fun with that. And I am a complete BB addict already!!

Playstand

Yeah, once I get it all done I'll post a pick with all the measurements and stuff. It was actually really easy to make and tons of fun!! I ran out of vettape and am waiting till I can order my plastic chain and ropes to finish it up, so will probably be a couple of weeks.

Thanks again!

Play Gym all done

Hello charliesmum, I finally finished it, here are some pics. It was pretty easy to make, I will say a PVC cutter or even a pipe cutter works awesome for cutting this stuff. I do have some pics with the measurements of the pieces too if you would like those, but here are some other pics.
