I am from Juneau Alaska.

The Last Frontier" - The name Alaska is derived from the Aleut word "Alyeska," meaning "great land."

Secretary of State William H. Seward arranged for the United States to purchase Alaska from Russia in 1867 for 7.2 million dollars, or 2 cents per acre.

Dog mushing is the state sport. It was once a primary form of transportation in many areas of Alaska.

Born just outside of Buffalo, NY and now live in Cortland, NY. Yes, you can find Cortland on the map.
Mid-way between Syracuse & Binghamton.

So what if all we do in this po-dunk town is drink & bowl? :icon_mrgr

Hey there and welcome!!
I know where Cortland is! I live in Olean, NY. Which is South of Buffalo - West of Binghamton. Also lived in Buffalo awhile.

Great to have you here!

Olean....60 miles down Rt 16. I grew up in East Aurora and worked for a delivery company that made deliveries to the two hospitals there. Well....one hospital now; they tore down OLV. Why they left the front steps standing I still don't understand.

My brother lives & works in Jamestown so I still drive by from time to time. Is it true that the best place to find things to do around there is Erie, PA?

My step daughter was born @ that hospital - yes - steps are still there - weird!

I guess it depends on what you want to do. I still frequent Buffalo since it was my old stompin ground in college. Erie is a wonderful place to shop though!

Small world - we own a home in Lakewood - suburb of Jamestown (that we are desperately trying to sell) We go there frequently too.

=====================================

Well it's here.... When you were a kid your teacher had you and your fellow classmates put a pin on the map to display where everyone came from. Well that same idea is now in place on BirdBoard.

You can place a pin on the global map of displaying where your from. Soon we will be able to see
how far and wide birdboards reach is around the world.

Click Here to Place Your Member Pin

Click Here to Place Your Member Pin

-------------------------------------------------------

To add your marker to the map (member map link located at the top bar of every page) simply click on 'Your Entry' (to the right of 'Show Map'), then zoom in on your location. You CAN use your mouse, click on the map, and move the map to a more appropriate location, then continue to zoom in. You can also double-click the map in a specific spot and that spot will become the center of the map (say you click on the right side twice, and where you clicked is now the center).

Once you are satisfied with your location, type something in in the 'marker text' box, then hit 'Insert Your Information'.

Now to VIEW your entry, simply close the browser, and open up a new one to the BB Map. You will now be able to view your entry.
