Hello -

My name is Vikki Dimattia. I am a devoted friend of Buzzy, a 7 year old African Grey. He is a real character and brings great joy and laughter to both my husband and I. We consider every day we have with him as a gift since we know that unless a miracle occurs his life will be far shorter than the norm. Buzzy has heart disease and although he looks and acts vibrant and healthy, his heart is enlarged and is beating at a rate that is 5 times faster than it should.

My husband and I own a tropical plant nursery in Vista, California, so we, and Buzzy, are surrounded by "a green paradise". My husband loves to surf and I enjoy crafting and reading. Buzzy is very social and loves to go to the beach and on short road trips. He greets our customers and is a real hit when we set up our booth at plant sales. He has a huge vocabulary and actually carries on coversations with us (when he wants to). I haven't figured out how to get him to talk on command (I've got the Clicker Training book, but haven't applied myself consistently to training). I would love to pursue training him since he is so quick and eager to learn.
