Question assisted flight training

Hi !!!

Capt. Wilbur is my 10 yr old Red Lored Amazon that I have had for 4 months. We are still "learning" about each other. I have heard about "assisted flight" for clipped birds and wanted to know how to approach this with my bird.

Also, I live in New York am still attempting to put a "pin" on the map,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Janie

Hi Janie - I'm not sure what you mean by assisted flight? If he's never flown before you are going to need to help him build up his flight muscles - if this is what you are asking by assisted. Short sessions of wing flapping in the beginning. My rehome Amazon is 13yrs old & started flying really well.
