Smile Hello - what a great site!

Hello! Today is my first time logging onto this site......and wow! I have been looking for something like this! We went to another bird show last weekend and my husband picked up one of the cards for this site. I am very glad that he did and am looking forward to visiting often. Our home is dominated by Sid who is an U2. We also have a Eclectus (vos), a Cockatiel, 2 cats, a Yorky, and a Newfoundland pup. Once the pup is trained.....we are thinking of getting a Macaw. I am looking forward to meeting and chatting with other bird lovers.

Welcome to BB! And what great photos! Just a warning though, macaws, especially B&G's can be allergic to cockatoo, cockatiel, and african grey dust. I've also heard that some eclectus don't do well around macaws because they are so loud and boisterous! Not trying to disuade you, just that you may need to take extra precautions when housing a macaw with your current birds!

Thanks for the advice Monica! I have heard that there are issues with allergies. We still have not decided on the actual type of Macaw. It is my understanding that some of the breeds do not have the allergies. That purchase will not happen for some time........as we want to make sure it is the perfect fit.

PS. I had not heard about the Eclectus - not liking to be around the Macaws due to the noise. Our Eclectus is as loud of a screecher as a Macaw....so, I would hope he would not have a problem?!
