Wink Anony from Aus

Hi everyone!

I'm from Sydney Australia. Our birds live in the garden and come and go as they please, but now we have Jack, a red-collared lorikeet who's proving to be a little devil We might need some help so here I am!

The stars of our flock can be seen here: www.birdanonymous.blogspot.com

Thanks Kevin :) The Easter bunny has been and gone on this side of the globe ... he's on his way over there ... Can anyone tell me what chocolate might do to a red-collared lorikeet? He stole some ...

I'm honoured to have you post on my thread first GOCBS Rick. Try "making a new thread" and tell us about yourself. See below there is a 'ForumJump' with a 'Go' button. Near the bottom of that I see you can jump for "Technical Questions and Help". I'm very new too so might be wrong :O

How much chocolate did he have? The theobromide in chocolate is poisonous fr birds, but I am not sure to what extent. I know in dogs if they have a little bit it won't hurt them, but birds are so much smaller. I might take him in to the AV just in case, or at least give them a call. I know in poisoning cases, time is crucial.

Hopefully someone who knows better will respond.

And welcome to BB.

great blog... are all your birds free to roam wherever and whenever? and still come in the house? too coooll... my chickens do that too! but not always happy about their visits, and presents.

I like how you called it a "drop bear".... its so neat to hear how people write or speak "english" so differently...

Considering this person lives in Australia they live in the middle of [wild] parrot suburbia!!! I don't actually think that they meant all of them are pets... but that they do have one bird as a pet (probably bought from a breeder) that is a red collared lorikeet!

Welcome to BB! As for chocolate, it's a big NO NO, and can be harmful to them in the long run... however it wont hurt them if they steal some, I just suggest to keep that from happening again!
