Cool Hello from Australia

Hello everybody out there.

I'm Steve and live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm from New Zealand and Scotland (spent half my childhood in each) but came over here about 7 years ago.

My self and my partner, inherited a cockatiel from her brother-in-law just last week. The cockatiel came from an aviary, but prior to that was hand raised and cared for by a little girl that got sick of the bird after just a few months and gave it to my girl friends brother-in-law, who 18 months later gave it to us after we mentioned that we might look into getting a wee birdy. I can't believe it, but even after 18 months in an Avery, the cockatiel is still EXTREMELY tame !!

I had a cockatiel when I was a kid in New Zealand, Spike. Sadly, I was forced to give my beloved Spike up in Auckland at about 1993 - 1994 ish because we moved to the UK and I've always wanted to get another one since. Not that any bird could replace Spike. My partner grew up in the outback of Australia and had many exotic "visitors" as a kid. Everything from magpies, galahs, hawks, lizards through to kangaroos, koalas and others !! Lucky her !!!

Anyway guys, that's us. If you've got any questions, please feel free to email us.

Looks like you have a real sweety there on your hands. And already asking for more head skritches.

I also have 4 tiels now 3 of them are in quarantine still. I don't know what it is about tiels but they sure know how to capture our hearts.

Congratulations on the new tiel, and welcome to the forum.
