She's about 8 years old, and very human-bonded, especially with me.

Kep, I did read of your babies fluid build up when sowilu mentioned her. While I dont have any thoughts to offer, I can say that many moons ago, I too had a budgie that had fluid build up on his HEAD! IT was the strangest thing. there one day and gone in a few. There were no avian vets at that time and the reg vets didnt know what to tell me. Floyd, (his name) went on to live a long good life, and i never did find out what it was.....

Lisa, what you describe sounds like a cold for birds... which builds up right under their eyes... that or a respiratory illness or rather something like Chlamydia.

As for this budgie here... my best guesses were something along the lines of a lipoma or xanthomas. When liquid was included I wasn't so sure.... although the part about cancer possibly being a cause is plausible.

I can't wait for my baby house goose to hatch... I'm also hatching some other ducks and geese and they'll probably just live in the backyard. They're all due sometime next week - the ducks on Friday and the geese on next Sunday. They're surprisingly emotional animals. As for my budgie, she's doing very well right now...I think she might even be responding to her antibiotics. She's had this fluid build up on and off. It's a bit weird.

Everyone's babies look beautiful, from the pictures in their signatures. Conure & Macaw Mom, how are severe macaws? I've heard many great things about them, being smaller but still having a BIG personality. I would love to have a parrot, it's always been a bit of a dream of mine. But alast, I instead spend time with the petstore parrots, who are all hand raised so are very friendly. But the thing is, they're exceedingly expensive at the pet store. A parrotlet can go for over 500 dollars, just a pretty average one. And the beautiful young timneh african grey that I've fallen in love with? 2288 dollars to be exact. All the cockatoos I've come to know and love may have been over that, not to mention the 3,000-4,000 dollar macaws that they had for less than a week, and 700 dollar conures. :( I would be willing to pay the price if I had it right at once, and if I knew more about their backgrounds.
