Hello from Northern California...

or would it be considered Central? There's so much debate about which "side" my city belongs to.

My name is Sumiko. I am a college student majoring in biology and working part-time at a local pet store. I am also a chinchilla breeder and I enjoy attending chinchillas shows and learning from the experienced breeders. My family and I are the proud parents of a female rose-breasted cockatoo named Phoenix. She is just a love and I'm looking forward to learning from everyone on here and hearing stories of other Galahs like our Phoenix.

A young picture of Phoenix (~6 months of age):

A more recent one - her plumage is now much brighter!

Hi Sumiko and welcome! Phoenix is just gorgeous, you must be so proud of her. I don't have a galah but I do have two chinchillas! Bob and Posy are my sweeties when it comes to furry friends and I can understand why you would love yours so much. Thanks for sharing the photos and enjoy yourself here.

All the best,

Heather

Hi Sumiko,
Welcome to BB! You didn't say where exactly you are, so I can't vote on whether you are central or Northern <g>, but I am still definitely Southern (Ventura County). Phoenix is a beauty!

Thanks, everyone. I love my Phoenix and all my chinnies.

I'm in Manteca. Maybe someone can decide whether it's considered Northern or Central...

In my book that is north....my imaginary line is somewhere between Santa Cruz and San Jose....don't ask for my rhyme or reason!

Well, IMO, anything around Sacramento or San Fransisco is Central California! I grew up about 165 miles north of Sacramento, and there's still plenty of miles left from there to Oregon!

I've got family (and friends of family) who live in Manteca! I sort of know the area, and may actually be in the SF area soon!

I gotta say though, Phoenix is gorgeous!!! And welcome to BB!
