New Here..Intro myself....

Hello!
My name is Shannon and I have 8 children, 3 dogs, 1 cat, a parakeet we just got yesterday...his name is Jak..We're awaiting our first Parrotlet...and her name is Emma...she is down for 2 feedings. This is how is all started ..we moved almost 3 months ago. An the birds here are so beauitful, serene and just a peace..and a complete joy..I wanted to share that love. I researched Parrotlets and contacted breeders all over the US.....I found one at last....Now we await the arrival. I have done alot of research on pararkeets as well and are working straight on stepping up. It was hard yesterday and DH and I both got bit...Jak tried to fly and was just scared..poor baby.
I have him some time to adjust and just talked. We started working on stepping up.. he did it and was so awesome. He doesn't appear to eat nor drink..concerned about that..
And my baby girl, a Parrotlet, Emma, I can't wait to have her and I already luv her so much..I have a big heart and am willing and ready to give these birds there forever home...Ok just wanted to intro myself a bit.

i too am getting a parrotlet soon...can't wait.

on the eating and drinking matter. i wouldn't too worried out it. if you just got him yesterday it can take a little while for them to be comfortable enough to eat/drink in front of you. i'm sure he's drinking when your not there though. :) sounds like your gonna make a great parront!!!!!

This am I was able to hand feed Jak his bird seet and millet spray..it was awesome.. I'm so in luv already..aahhh. And I go tmore pics of Emma and I can't wait to her as well. Wow, never thought I'd be a bird lover..lol. I luv dogs as well..3 is my max there ...and i cat.. 8 kids.. done there too..lol
but am thinking about a 3rd bird for next year. I've got 2 different breeds that I'd like. but we'll see. lol

Welcome. I too just got a new budgie yesterday. He is 7 months old and a light blue, white, and yellow. I have pictures, I will upload. I own a 3.5 year old sun conure: Sunny! I love him to pieces. I am in the process of saving for my dream bird a Timneh African Grey.

Well it was nice to meet you and look forward to some pictures.
