New from North Florida
Hi. I am Deb and am new to these boards. I adopted last January ( or was adopted by shall I say) a conure, which the vet thinks is a sunday (cross of a sun conure and Jenday). His (?) age is unknown. He is very friendly, likes to eat the buttons off of my clothes, likes to cuddle and to take showers and get blown dry. Hey, with that description, maybe he is a she? Definately likes woman more than men but is warming up to dh. He laughs when I laugh and likes to dance with me. I am a new big bird owner, have previously owned parakeets growing up and my dd had a cockatiel. I also have 3 cats and the cats are jealous of the bird. I had recently switched him to an all pellet diet and he is doing well with it. He does not seem to like fruits and veggies much though. My dd, who is home during the day, had to take him to the vet because his stool was red. Well, I did not tell her I switched him to pellets and, yup, that is what was making the stool red. And she did not ask me about his red stool while I was at work because she was afraid that I would get upset lol. Well, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. deb

Deb, welcome to the board. Your conure sounds like a great little guy. You must be giving him the fruit flavored pellets. My Dave likes them but that red poop will stain anything with which it comes into contact!
