Howdy Everybody

Hi there, my name is Vicki. I am new to the board. I dont have a bird at the moment but getting close to getting one, just waiting for them to become old enough.
I am 37, happily divorced, have 2 wonderful teenage boys and i live in Columbus, GA in the US.
I have quite a few critters right now, and a bird will complete what Im wanting. I have Dixie - 14 year old retriever/chow mix.
Diamond - 6 year old lynx point siamese (aka Brat Cat)
Rio - 6 year old solid white long hair cat
Pooter - Almost 2 year old calico
Jinx - age questionable bl/wh tuxedo was a stray that never left.
Pinky - hairless rat (just had my other one put to sleep for old age and tumors)
Kaimah - baby African spiny mouse
Sammy - male betta fish

That covers my critters, hope to get to know a lot of you. have a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Vicki

Hi Vicki... welcome to the boards!

What kinda bird are you waiting on? Long to wait?

Your little zoo sounds awesome... great mix. I've got a little zoo myself and wouldn't have it any other way.

Hi there, it will be a cockatiel. They just hatched about a week or so ago. The person with the babies i have directed her here as well. The mother and father have quit caring for the youngest. The poor thing is so tiny, and they are hand feeding him in hopes he survives, but thought folks here could help them out with more suggestions and advice.

I was supposed to have a blue fronted amazon but long story there, I never got him and I have wanted a bird since.

Oh yeah, there are quite a few cockatiel breeders here who'll hav suggestions for them. It's not unusual to see people asking for similar help on here either.

I really hope he makes it and gets to live with you after not being able to get your amazon.

Maybe once I get to know folks better i can bore them with the story about Petey, the amazon. I dont know if it will be this itty bitty one that I get or one of the others in the clutch, there were 5 that hatched. One is a total pig and is growing like a weed, then there is this tiny one that they quit caring for. i do want a male though.

I tell people I have an entire food chain in my house from fish, mouse, rat, cat dog hehee

Thats awesome that Emma is ready to come home to you all. I cant wait until my birdie is ready for me to come see it, of course I wont be picking one out until they start getting personality and I see which one catches my eye.
Hope to see pics of Emma when you get her home :)
