now i'm slightly suspicious as he's £195 there are 2 in the cage and both are hand reared but Ike is the friendlier of the 2 is that an unusually low price for a hand reared bird?

Thats not low, cinnamon gc's go for less than that for us in the states, Not sure what one would sell for where you live.

The mutations that would be expensive, are most likely not the color he is. Turquoise pineapple males and other mutations do carry a pretty hefty price.

If I were to guess, he's probably a plain cinnamon green cheek or posibly a cinnamon turquiose.

hello!! I've always meant to get down that end of the country but Wicklow is as far as I've been. are there many people on the board from Ireland or are we the only ones?
as for Ike I've decided that instead of getting a full tank of heating oil now I'll get half and that means i can get him regardless of whether i get the money I'm hoping for and then i'll be able to pay for more oil later in the year. I'm of on holiday in the middle of June for 2 weeks so I'm hoping if i put down a deposit then I'll get him when i get home
I'm going in today to see if the pet store will allow it so fingers crossed.

hi everyone, well i went into the store yesterday and asked if they could keep Ike over for me until I'm back from my holiday but they said no as he'd be too hard to train as he would be too old, surely that can't be right it would only be another month, i understand he may well be getting less used to being handled being in the pet store but surely you could train him up again if he once was hand tame. They said if he was still there when i got back then obviously i could purchase him but that they wouldn't deprive him of a home if one came along in the mean time, i think what they really mean is that they want the quickest sale they can get! so I'll have to wait and see in a few weeks if he's mine or if he's gone to another home all i can do is just hope that he gets a good one.

i think we are the only ones..unfortunately, who needs heating oil in the summer eh?lol

as far as the shop not letting you put a deposit down ask them can you pay off buy week for him? most shops will and it will mean that you may not have him fully paid off for by the time you go on holidays, that or have you some one who could keep him for you for the couple of weeks your away?
