Question Hi I'm new, My friends all say I'll be that crazy bird lady when I'm older

I'm in Ottawa Canada, and at present have 3 budgies ( +3 eggs)

2 finches, a Java and socity... and Did have a pair of Cockitiels, But there was an accident the cage got knocked over and we lost the girl, She must have caught an air current and is long gone, I only hope she was found by a loving family

So she has been gone 2 weeks now and my Chris( the male) is so lost without his Kringle, he screeches almost all the time, if I leave his eyesight, or talk on the phone too long he lets me know it!
Ive been told it wont be a good Idea to get an other cage mate, and toys just scare him..... does anyone have any idea how to help him( and Me) over our loss?? thanks all Wanda

"Hi I'm new, My friends all say I'll be that crazy bird lady when I'm older"......why wait until you're older? lol... I've been known as the crazy animal lady since day one.
I'm sorry about your cockatiel. It must be awful for you and Chris. Bringing home another bird may or may not be best for him. First you never know if two birds will like each other. What if they never become friends? Do you have room/time for another bird? Then you have to consider quarantine arrangements. Where will you keep the new bird until quarantine is over? Good luck with whatever you decide!

The beauty of this board is that everyone is in the same boat. I recently got a second bird and I have hesitated telling people because they already think I'm nuts for buying the first. You'll fit in well here and there is a lot of good advice and fun out here.
