Hi,, Very New at this.
Me and My hubby of 20 years get to share our home with 4 pet parrots, 3 cats, 2dogs and 1 hamster. Our Parrots are: from Oldest to Youngest. Peterie- Hahn's Macaw, Davey-Med. Sulphur Crest Cockatoo, Cheekie-Camaroon African Grey and Kelli, B&G Macaw
We run a Parrot Rescue and Placement center called Wyzard's Keep. We have very strict rules and 3 forms in our application and questionare, before we will consider placing a parrot into the new prospective care.
I also am President and Founder of the Central Alberta Parrot Society.
We love to travel and go wilderness camping and yes we take all the animals with us when we can. Our Parrots just love to be able to sit on their stands or swings in the trees. There is nothing like a good springy branch stand to make your parrot happy all day.
Someday I might just tell you how we do our camping with all the animals and a 13 ft trailer.
All for now.

Welcome Wyz. Your vacations have to be hilarious for other people to see. You probably look like a traveling zoo. I am a new mom of an Umbrella Cockatoo and the proud mom of an 11 year old Dalmatian. I cannot wait until summer so I too can travel with my pets. I do it all the time with my dog but this will be the first with my too. Just trying to find places that will let me bring them both.
Welcome to birdboard. Your gonna love it here. A lot of great people! :icon_mrgr

Welcome to BirdBoard!! I'm dying to know how you camp with your birds!! My hubby and I have been talking about that - we have a husky who loves to camp and hike. I've wondered how to bring Charlie, our YNA, with us. Can't wait for you to share your secrets!

I'm trying to buy a bird carrier for Rico. I was getting ready to buy him an Adventure Pack Bird Carrier, it's used as a back pack to take him for walks and stuff. The one I found I don't believe will be large enough. Would love to hear what you have and where you got it! The one I was looking at is found at www.bird-supplies.com. Just don't thinks it's gonna be big enough :eusa_wall
