Hi all bird lovers
I own a cockateil. My 10 year old grandson wants to get his own cockateil. Do you think this is too young? Also, his dad thinks he should get a parrot. Any opinions? Thanks, Abby |

I got my first cockatiel at age 3. If his parents are willing to take care of it it should be fine. Mine is bonded with my mum but is happy to be with anyone. 10 isn't too young as long as his parents will take care of it. As you know, cockatiels are awesome, my cockatiel (well, more my mums now) is 17 years old, we've grown up together, he'll be 18 at the end of the year. Welcome!
