Hi from Casselberry, Fl

Hi I am Dee, yesterday I posted something and I was not sure if I did it correctly, but I do not find it.

My name is Dee, I am from Casselberry Fl and I have 3 beautiful Cun Conures, Peedee, Peaches and their baby Rainbow. I do not know what sex Rainbow is but I do believe that it is Peaches that has layed eggs once again. They all take care of the eggs together but Peaches is the one in there most of the time. I had 5 but 2 died a year later when I moved to Florida . I kept them because their legs were spread apart (my husband called them John & Wayne like the cowboy because they walked funny). I was told that this was because their was not enough bedding at the bottom of the box as they were growing. I do remember that Peedee and Peaches took out all the bedding and everytime I would put more they just took it out.

Peaches has had 3 clutches in NY. Now after living in Florida for 2yrs she is laying eggs again. I hope they hatch because these babies I want to handfeed. I searched for this board so that I can learn more about handfeeding. It seems easy but I have lots of questions to make sure I will do it correctly. The first egg appeared on July 21st so far she has 3 eggs. I do not know if she is going to lay anymore. The 2nd egg was layed 5 days later and the 3rd egg 1 day after the 2nd. How do I know if she is finished laying? When can I take the birds after they hatch so that I can handfeed them? and How many times do they have to be fed when I have taken them away from mom? These are some of the questions I need answered. I love my birds and if I learn how to breed I can make it a hobby and there are many people that want birds and cannot afford them, I will make sure they get wonderful owners and homes. I did it before without handfeeding and it was great. Hope to meet many people here. Thanks.

HI Dee. Welcome to Fl. I live in Orlando (west side). If you would like some instruction on hand feeding, the shop where I got my boys offers hands-on lessons. If you'd like the info, I can send to you.

Also, you should come visit us at Parrots in the Park. It's a social club for exotic bird owners. It's the first sunday of every month. They're having one today.. I have to postpone my visits until I get Newt harness trained. He's discovered what those wings are for. LOL

Thanks!

I am sorry I took so long to answer but I have been running around school starts Monday. One of my babies hatched yesterday and I would like some hands on training, if you can let me know where I can go I would definately appreciate it. Thank you very much. You have some beautiful animals, I am an animal lover also- I have 3 dogs 1 cat 3 Sun Conures soon to be 7. I had a snake but he died and I had many other animals, but it was getting to difficult to tend to all since I am so busy. I posted a new thread if you can read it and let me know if you can answer any of the questions I would be very happy. Thanks again have a good day.

DeeLo
