Help Please!

Hello from kansas city! I am new here. I asked a question earlier in the week, but am so bad at this i can't find it so see if anyone has answered me! haha, yikes. Anyways this is my problem: I purchased a black and blue lovebird from a pet store last week. The store was going to put him down since he had sat unsold in the window for 6 months. I had to save the little guy! I already own two parakeets, which live in seperate cages. I understand that he is scared of me, but i can't even put toys in his cage. He throws his body against the sides of his cage when i try to change his food and water. Please Help!
