Aussie Mob at my house
How did this happen? One day some years ago I was asked to take care of a pair of parakeets. The owner never returned to claim them. Slowly but surely I learned and by trial and error the flock began to grow. With additional new blood introduced now and then, a big aviary built outside on the patio to house them I became the caregiver to 36 multicolored beauties. Pretty soon I was known as the local "Bird Lady". the two present nesting pair are housed in their own apartments where they work their magic. The last clutch of four were astonishing. 2 pure white 1 bright yellow with a hint of green, and 1 harlequin blue and white. What a joy they are and how beautifully they compliment my pretty little garden. On occasion I lost a few as they escaped and headed for the blue yonder, (I spotted a couple who had hooked up with "The Wild Bunch") and seem to be OK. I may have to thin the flock out pretty soon, but hate the thought of parting with any of them. They have been giving me such pleasure, their early morning chatter and the sparkle of flashing plumage makes me want to get out of bed every morning!
