Phyl.

G'day Everyone :)
I appreciate being able to join your Board.
I live in Victoria, Australia at the 90 Mile Beach and yes it is 90 miles
of surf and sand.
My husband Peter and I feed hundreds of birds every day (just enough to have them come visit but not enough to make them overly dependent)
and we know just how lucky we were to find this wonderful place where
we are well outnumbered by Kangaroos who just amble all over the place
and just amazing. We have at least 50 Galahs (rose Breasted Cockatoos) visit
us every day along with around the same or more Rainbow Lorikeets who
will sit all over us as we lay in the outdoor area we have especially for the
birds to visit. We have many varieties of birds visit most days with Sulphur Crested Cockatoos by the many who sit on the electric wires and hang
upside down and chatter away. This morning as most mornings we have
Rosellas enmass splashing around in our big birdbaths which is always a joy to see. At our back gates is a big water reserve called Lake Reeve and the water
birds there this morning are just wonderful - so many Black Swans and Pelicans and many many smaller water birds. We have one Cockatiel called
Pip and devastated to say our beautiful Pearl Cockatiel "Lucky" flew off a few
weeks ago and although advertised and walked for days on end calling no
sightings :) and one Budgie. who flew in and nobody claimed although we
tried to find his owner.
Anyway as I am known to talk alot especially where birds and animals are
concerned I will send this off and maybe some people might find it interesting lol.
Thanks for reading
Phyl.

Welcome, Phyl.

Sounds like the garden of Eden to me (LOL). Complete with snakes no doubt.
Seriously, we Yanks are green with envy everytime you Aussies post pictures of your wildfowl. Kinda makes our Bluejays and Cardinals pale by comparison. I have 10 larger parrots, mostly macaws, so I have "enhanced" my backyard (LOL).

Hope to see you post often.

THE OUTLAW

Hello Phyl. We're glad to have you here on Bird Board. Like Nancy (Outlaw), I am completely jealous of your "wildlife". I wish I have Cockatoos and Lories in my back yard. It must be quite the site. But something you're probably used to.

If you get the chance, please post some pictures of your "visitors", we'd love to see them.

G'day Phyl and welcome to the board! I'm from Brisbane. Your place sounds beautiful-you must have a lot of acreage? I'm in a northern suburb but still get heaps of lorikeets, occasional rosellas, king parrots and cockatoos. I'm sorry you lost your tiel, hope you get her back.

Nancy and Don, you may be jealous of our wildlife, but we are jealous of y'all for being able to get macaws and greys at fairly cheap prices!
