Soon to be Conure Owner from Washington

Hi, My name is Katrina, 15 Years old, and im from Washington. For about 5 years ive been begging my mom to buy me a bird. Now she has finally agreed and im getting a bird somtime after January. you may have seen me around a little bit but most of the time i just read posts looking for answers and learning all i can about bird keeping. 4 month,(yes im counting down) 4 months untill we REALLY go bird shopping. Ive loved birds since i was about 8 years old, and i want to be a veterinarian when i become an adult, Yes i am a Band Geek, I do participate in marching band at my high school playing Clarinet. I currently have 1 dog(Jack) and 26 fish in a 100 gallon tank. Im glad to have joined Bird Board, ive have learned so much already.

im interested in a sun or jenday conure but any species my mom gets will be great(im letting her pick)
she says the right bird will be there when it's time to buy a bird.(she's always looking) it was the same way with our dog. when it was time to get a dog, he was there

when i say band geek i mean im really into band, i think band kids are the coolest people in the school. so im friends with the cool people too.
The reasons we are waiting is
1: Most of her Money is going to pay for going to DC for the both of us with my band $860 a piece and my moms not rich.
2: I have to prove i can get good grades so she won't be convinced untill my first grades come in somtime in november.
3:I need to keep up on my chores to prove i can do that and keep up with bird keeping chores.
4: Mom says cage before bird, so she has to get the new cage and toys and be all set up before we buy a bird.
5: I still need to use this time to bring her around to the proper nutrition and care of a bird.
To cap it all, my mom wants a bird, but she does not want taking care of it to fall on her. so i have to prove i want the bird and care for it.
