Hi Everyone

We have a GCC girl, and a previous Sun breeder. We got our Sun breeder from a store that his mate had passed and he was really sad. In that we have another Sun we were hoping they would bond and possibly have babies, however "Papa" bonded with our Green Cheek. Last year she laid five eggs. None were fertile, and she is only about 1 1/2 years old (which I thought was real young) she also did not pay much attention to the first clutch and was out of the nest most of the day. We notice that Papa and Juju starting going to town and now she has laid five more eggs. She is very attentive this time, not leaving the box, and Papa is very protective and taking wonderful care of her. She trys to get out and he shoos her back in. My question is: I know its very unlikely the babies are viable, however I have seen a few posts online that some GCC and Sun babies did in fact hatch. Can anyone shed some light on this? I hate to have her continue to lay eggs and we did try and seperate them last time to discourage this, but they were so sad apart. Our other Sun has bonded with our Quaker, I am not concerned with that combination, I know that is not possible.

Re

Thanks, I had a wonderful reply from Tina. We bought a candler and we did candle the eggs today and one looks like its six days fertile. The rest look clear. We are going to keep a close eye on them.

Thank you for the welcome!

If

If it does he/she does in fact hatch. I will certainly post pics. I have only ran across two instances that people claim the have a baby from that type of combo. After this tho, I think I will seperate them to discourage future egg laying. Physically I want all involved to be optimal.
