Hi I am Deb and I have a CAG that is 7years old and she has been with me for 3 months. She came from a home where she was locked in a back room with 4 other birds and not taken out of her cage in 6 years. Since getting her she has become more trusting of me but does not like my husband at all. She will step up (most of the time) and let me pet her head. I can carry her around the house and she will go on her perch or on the kitchen counter. I have not been able to get her into the shower but did try to mist her and she hated it (the previous owner said she loved it). I have finally gotten her to eat Zupreem pellets from a diet of only sunflower seeds. She is not eating any fruit or veggies and boy have I tried.... She has learned some new words since we have gotten her ( her name "winnie" she says hello just like me and in some other voices) She is working on saying something new now (since yesterday) but I haven't figured it out yet.
I am in love with winnie. She is so much fun to be around and now I so badly want to add to my family... I am thinking about a macaw ( I have always wanted one) and am looking at either a blue throated, red winged or a red fronted. I want to get a baby.. If anyone knows of a reputable breeder in Michigan or near I would love to know about them (or a great breeder that is worth the travel to go to)......

welcom. Keep offering the veggies and fruit. Eat them infront of her and make it look like it is the best thing. Then offer her some! Always offer them even if she isn't eating them. She will eventually!
