Hello from MI
Hello, I am from the Detroit area and currently have 4 fids, Davy Jones a B&G macaw, Cass a G2, Eyor a quaker and Sammy a M2 my most recent adoption/rescue. Unfortunatlly over the years I have lost a few of the flock mostly due to age (finches) and a budgie due to an accident. I am pretty much bossed around by the birds they let me know when they want food, attention, to sit on my lap= Davy thinks he's a lap dog not a bird. You name it they have mom trained LOL and I wouldn't have it any other way! I have the privalage of being able to spend everyday home with my fids the rare days I do leave, my plucker Davy plucks all his new growth he has gained sense coming to live here so I try to keep my time away limited or have a sitter come in when I am going to be gone for more than a couple hours. By next summer I am planing to have an outdoor avaiarry (sp?) built in my yard so they can be out in the gardens with me. I only take in rescue birds, all of my fids have come from either bad homes or homes that could no longer take proper care of the bird. I look forward to many happy and healthy years ahead with our fids we have a great vet, a must especially when working with rescues and lots of support from family and friends. To think 15 years ago I was afraid of birds now I sleep with a macaw, go figure!
