Kakariki and friends

I think we've done this backwards - we've already done some posts, but, well, better late than never. So we're newish here on BirdBoard, and based in Yellowknife in Northern Canada. We joined under Northern Budgie a few years ago, when we still had our much loved little Sticky Feet (hence our BB name). He died 2 years ago after fighting valiantly against an aggressive abdominal tumour, and I wasn't sure about another little friend at all - still mourning our best guy.

Well, this past weekend, we were visiting the pet store here, and saw a beautiful little kakariki who seemed very sad, but in good health. After much deliberation, we have him (or her, we're not sure) with us, and he's still getting used to things - we've been leaving him alone for the most part, but he's been having some baths, crawling around, and finally making a bit of noise.

I think we're calling him Boo. Here are a couple of pictures...

Wow!! I don't think I have ever seen anyone that had a kakariki for a pet!! Very pretty baby you have there, I love the first pic of him bathing!!!
