Hi from PA!

I just wanted to pop in, and say hello. I do not own a bird, however I am hoping to somewhere down the line. My friends/neighbors have quite a few, with one whom I love to death and visit every day. I wanted to join a board that would hopefully answer any questions I may come upon and would like the guidance of figuring out which type of bird best suits me. For now I believe I will just cruise around and check out posts and see what I can get into

Hi. I'm no expert but I will help you in any way I can. You are doing the right thing by front loading your research before your purchase. Let us know some of the types you are interested in or what your lifestyle and expectations are. I'm sure you will get plenty of input. We all have a lot to say!

One of my friends has a bird who is not very social, and then I have other friends whose birds just want to be with you. Being at home all day long, I want something like that. After bird sitting my friends Caique I absolutely fell in love with him. I like the personality, size, noise level, however I have read they are not the best choice for a novice bird owner. There are just so many different species out there, I thought a forum may be able to help me narrow them down.
