Hi from Land of the Parrots

Hi all :)

I dont own any birds yet but plan on getting some budgies and hopefully 2 rainbow lorikeets soon.

I love living in Australia, 'the land of the parrots'.

I regularly have many species of parrots frequenting my back yard and neighbourhood include flocks of sulphur crested cockatoos, galahs, corellas, very noisy rainbow lorikeets in their hundreds, crimson and eastern rosellas, king parrots just to name the common ones. Not to mention the other non-parrot birds around. It really is a feast for the eyes and ears and I just live in an average suburban area with hardly any trees left yet the birds still come.

I look forward to spending more time here :)

Welcome! Me and my husband just watched a program on TV the other night about Australias parrots. It was quite interesting. Especially the part that talked about a turquois bellied/throated parakeet that is nearly extinct... they nest in tree trunks/desserted ant hills where the bottoms are covered with grubs. Gross! It was a very interesting program nonetheless, makes me want to visit. I have an adopted child who lives in NSW, Ambarville. One day I will get there. I think it would be very cool to see flocks of Cockatoos everywhere. Anyways... Welcome!

Wow! Welcome, I'm from England. You don't see many parrots hanging around in our trees! But its nice to have you here, haven't been here long myself to be honest. And you must let us know when you get your budgies! They're great pets!
