New to birds

I am a long time bird lover, but my only experience with a bird is the tiel I found flying around the neighborhood when I was only 12, we kept it a week and deicided to give it to the neighbor who had a huge cage. My husband has had a conjure (not sure which one) when he was a teanager and has always wanted another one. Well long story short we went to the bird center in our area and after the owner showed us a hundred diff birds we settled on a 4 week old male Sun Conure we named Rubix. We won't be able to bring our baby home until after he's off the formula. Approx Decmber 08. I in the meantime need to learn all I can about taking care of this sweet little thing. We get to go visit him any time the center is open she has a nursery for people to visit there babies. I was a wonderful experience and I'm planning to get an Ecletus after we get this baby settled. So if any one has any advise I will take it PLEASE.

Howdy! Welcome to the forum. I think Suns are great, and from what I hear, Eclectus are wonderful birds too!

Depending on how long ago it was this whole area has changed. Things are spreading out so far now I think even Mansfield is going to get over run. My husband and I have been threatening to move to Arizona but for now we'll just go visit his uncle there. I actually live in Wylie now and its so overpopulated the poor schools can't keep up. I still don't want to move again except maybe AZ:)

Ah, you picked a good bird. ^___^ I had a sun conure for 9 years and she was the best bird I've ever had. They really love you when they love you!
