No, they REALLY don't play, I have to say my Cockatiel (which I had first) is way to human bonded to even stand the Quaker near her, and he is mean to her unless "he" wants to snuggle. A quick question.... maybe I'll ask on the Quaker board but do all Quakers love LOUD music and such..it seems the louder it is the more he likes it.

Oh yeah I have bought about 10 books off Ebay to help me make the next bird choice. Although I wouldn't mind another tiel, I certainly wouldn't get another Quaker. I think one of them is good enough he is alot of bird in a little package!!! :) :) :)

If you like, I can set you up with a great breeder in Milw. She breeds senegals, maximillian's pionus, parrotlets, and a few others. I highly recommend you talk to her before buying... and welcome!

no playing

No my cockatiel and Quaker do not play at all...the cockatiel is way to human bonded to care about other birds and the Quaker is a meaneeeee towards her. Unless he wants to sit by her then it's O.K. (of course). Do your birds play amongest each other??

Kristy,

Welcome to you and your flock. We're always glad when people find us! You'll find lots of useful information here. Along with Crebain's suggestion (on breeders), you might consider adding a Senegal to you flock. Or maybe even a Caique. Both are grey't little birds, with tons of personality. If you're still thinking a little bigger, Greys make wonder companions and you can't go wrong with a Goffin's Cockatoo. Just make sure the 'Too has plenty to chew on.

Anyway, welcome to our crazy family. I look forward to getting to know you and your flock. I can't wait to hear what you decide on.
