Not yet, I used to have a parakeet,at the moment I'm looking to buy a Macaw.

Well I went to a bird store about forty five minutes from where I live and I spoke to the manager about their Macaws. It was really cool inside this place, they had a large area full of birds, and right in the middle were several Macaws perched up on their stands. Anyhow the manager told me Macaws are excellent birds to have as pets, she recommended there Catalina Macaws which were very cool to look at. I have always liked Macaws and would love to get one soon

Most people usually start out with smaller species, as the larger species can be quite a lot to handle! Your looking at a bird who could easily destroy a $15-$75 toy within a matter of hours if it so pleases, a bird who needs fresh foods daily (approx 15% pulses, 30% grains, 45% veggies, 10% fruits, with the occasional cooked eggs, sprouted seeds, supplements, etc) with a dry diet (seeds, nuts, pellets), and a cage that can easily set you back $300-$600... The bird will need a minimum of 5 toys, but the more the merrier! If your up for that, and you've heard one scream, then I wish you the best of luck!
