Hello Everybody
My name is Jenna and I'm a new parrot owner. New but know exactly what I'm in for, I should say. I grew up with a B&G Macaw and my aunt has had a Yellow Nape since before I was even born.
I have wanted a parrot for the longest time. About 10 years, actually. Instead though, I kept birthing loud and rambunctious male children, lol. My boys are now a bit older and I decided it was time to fulfill my dream. The newest member of our family is Disco, a 8 month YNA. We're assuming she is a she at the moment. I sure hope she is a she... I could use another female around the house, lol. Thank you all for being a part of this message board and writing about your experiences and tips on raising birds here as it's been tremendously helpful for us. And special thanks to Kelly and her Teflon story. I had been dragging my feet with buying new cookware but after reading your story, I immediately bought a stainless steel set online. I love my Disco so much. I look at pictures of her and my eyes get teary. Yesterday I told my oldest son that he was lucky I still rank him above the bird, lol (we tease each other to no end). Well I am very pleased to say "Welcome" and I am very happy to hear you got rid of those teflon pans. We look forward to stories about Disco and of course those loud and rambunctious boys of yours. And the dog too!
